ThermiAesthetics Skin Rejuvenation

ThermiAesthetics skin rejuvenation treatments use a temperature-controlled radiofrequency device called ThermiRF. This revolutionary, FDA-cleared system employs radiofrequency energy to help improve numerous signs of aging by non-surgically tightening, smoothing, and lifting the skin for a more youthful appearance. Here at 740 Park Plastic Surgery, Dr. Stafford R. Broumand and Dr. Daniel Y. Maman offer ThermiTight, ThermiRase, and ThermiSmooth, each of which has proven to achieve exceptional, natural-looking outcomes for individuals who wish to rejuvenate their skin without invasive surgery and extensive downtime.

ThermiTight

The non-surgical, minimally invasive ThermiTight procedure is designed to tighten loose skin in the face, neck, chest, arms, and back. During treatment, a special SmartTip thermistor probe is meticulously inserted beneath the skin and carefully moved around in the targeted area as it delivers a precise degree of radiofrequency energy controlled by the ThermiRF device. This temperature-regulated energy penetrates into specific, deeper tissue layers, effectively stimulating the natural production of new collagen while leaving surrounding tissues unharmed. Over time, this new collagen growth should help to tighten lax skin in the treatment region for a smooth and even appearance.

Following the ThermiTight procedure, some minor redness and swelling may be present, but these symptoms generally subside relatively quickly. The majority of patients are able to resume normal daily activities within a few days, if not immediately. For optimal results, multiple treatment session may be necessary.

ThermiRase

ThermiRase is a non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure intended to minimize the appearance of line and wrinkles by restricting muscle contractions below the skin (similar to the way BOTOX® Cosmetic works). During treatment, nerves responsible for muscle contractions are pinpointed using a combination of electrical and radiofrequency pulses. Once identified, the ThermiRF device is employed to deliver thermal-controlled radiofrequency waves into a specific segment of the nerve to inhibit it from contracting the muscle responsible for creating the wrinkle on the surface of the skin. The final outcome is generally smoother, more youthful-looking skin with results that often last longer than BOTOX® injections and other comparable alternatives.

Following ThermiRase, some minor swelling and/or redness can often be expected, but these symptoms should dissipate shortly and rarely prevent patients from resuming normal daily routines soon after treatment.

ThermiSmooth

Non-invasive ThermiSmooth is an innovative procedure designed to smooth skin in the face, neck, and various other regions of the body using thermal-regulated radiofrequency energy. Prior to treatment, a small amount of coupling gel is applied to the targeted area(s). The ThermiSmooth handpiece is then carefully moved in a sweeping and/or circular motion overtop the skin as it delivers a specific degree of heat controlled RF energy via the ThermiRF device. Once tissues in the treatment area reach a prespecified temperature, old collagen will start to diminish, and the growth of new collagen will be stimulated as part of the skin’s natural inflammatory response. The combination of these factors ultimately helps to create a smoothing effect on the surface of the skin for a rejuvenated, revitalized appearance.

There is typically no pain associated with the ThermiSmooth treatment. In fact, many individuals report that it actually feels similar to a warm massage. While some minor redness and swelling immediately following the procedure, these side effects are temporary and do not prevent most patients from returning to everyday activities immediately. For an optimal outcome, multiple treatments may be necessary.
