When Should I Consider Breast Reduction?

Overly and/or disproportionately large breasts can be both physically and mentally debilitating for many women. For individuals experiencing this issue, breast reduction surgery may be an excellent solution. Designed to reduce and recontour the size and shape of the breasts, this popular procedure can also lift the breasts to an elevated position for a more youthful-looking aesthetic.

Some of the most common reasons women may consider breast reduction include the following concerns:

  • Continuous – sometimes severe – pain in the neck, back, and shoulders
  • Persistent headaches spanning from the back of the neck to the forehead
  • Deep, tender indentations caused by the pressure of bra straps
  • Painful rashes located in and around the inframammary crease
  • Unwanted fullness located in the armpit and outer chest area
  • Habitually poor posture

In addition to these concerns, many individuals contemplate breast reduction due to difficulties with finding properly fitting clothing, an inability to perform certain exercises or physical activities, and/or receiving undesired attention in regard to the appearance of their breasts.

If you can relate to any of the issues above, or if you are encountering any other concerns that pertain to the size of your breasts, you may qualify as a good candidate for breast lift surgery. To determine if this breast enhancement procedure would be the best option for your unique needs and desires, I strongly recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon who has the skill and experience necessary to achieve excellent results.
